John R. "Bud" Carbin

John R. "Bud" Carbin, 92, a resident of Uniontown, PA, died Sunday November 8, 2009
in the Uniontown Hospital.
He was born January 28, 1917, in Uniontown, PA, son of the late John P. and Effie
Kremer Carbin.
Mr. Carbin was a graduate of Penn State University and received a Masters Degree from
West Virginia University. He served in the US Army during WW II in the Pacific Theater
and then in the Korean Conflict. He taught school at the South Union High School for over
35 years until his retirement.
He was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church, Fayette Lodge 228 F&AM,
Uniontown Lodge of Perfection, Scottish Rite of Pittsburgh, Syria Shrine and Caravan 9.
He was also a member of the Uniontown Country Club, Uniontown Izaak Walton League,
American Legion Post 51 and VFW Post 47.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Louise Bryson Carbin in
1999.
Mr. Carbin is survived by two sons: James R. Carbin of Uniontown and John W. Carbin
and wife, Suellen of Bowling Green, KY; three grandchildren: Megan, Robert and Sarah
Carbin also of Bowling Green KY.
Friends will be received in the J. HARRY JOHNSTON FUNERAL HOME, 65 North
Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, PA, Wednesday, November 11, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m. and Thursday, November 12, 2009 until 11 a.m., the hour of service in the funeral
home, with Reverend Michael Orsted officiating.
Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Trinity United Presbyterian
Church or the Fayette County Association for the Blind.
